Year 3 Remote Learning
Week Beginning 12th July 2021
Please see remote learning below for children who are self isolating. Each subject has a week’s worth of lessons that we would complete in school. Each lesson should be completed in your child’s homework book then brought in when they return to school for it to be checked by their teacher. Week Beginning 1st March 2021
Hello Year 3! We hope you are enjoying our Queens topic. We have seen so much fantastic learning coming in. This is your last week of remote learning and we are so excited to have you all back in school again next Monday. We hope you can join our Google meets during the week and see all of your friends ready for your return to school. On Thursday it is world book day and the topic slides have some ideas for things you could do. Whatever you choose to do we’d love to see.

Week Beginning 22nd February 2021
Hello year 3! We hope you had a restful half term and are now fully recharged for this next half term. Our topic is ‘Queens’ and we will be developing our enquiry skills to become great historians! Your learning for this week is attached below and is in the same format as before half term.
Please send us some work via the year group email and dojo points will be awarded, as well as some head teacher awards! As always, if you have any concerns or queries, please call or email to speak to your child’s class teacher and we can help you.

Year 3 Remote Learning
Week Beginning 8th February 2021
Hello from the year three team! Thank you so very much for all the hard work you have shared with us this half term! Four more days and then we can all have a well earnt rest. You can listen to all your teachers voices this week. Miss Simpson has uploaded videos of her teaching in the maths powerpoint. Miss Duffy has posted videos of her teaching the English. You can also look back to last week and listen to Mrs Hamilton read the guided reading text for both last week and this week.
We hope you have enjoyed this half terms project about Africa. Next term we are going to be learning about “The Queen” and comparing what is is like to be a queen now and what it was like to be Queen Victoria. We are hoping to have a royal tea party! We are looking forward to seeing you dressed up for that!

Week Beginning 1st February 2021
This week is mental health week and what a time for this to be happening! Below, you will find some activities linked to developing a positive mental health as it is so important to look after yourselves mentally as well as physically.
We hope you have been enjoying your learning this half term. We only have two weeks left of our Africa topic and we hope you will enjoy learning about elephants over the next two weeks in literacy.
Some of the adults in school have been reading stories for you to listen to. To listen to them, go to ‘Remote Learning’ then ‘Assemblies and Stories.’ You may have to scroll down to previous weeks if you’ve missed them.
Once again, thank you to those of you who are sending learning in. It is really important your teachers see that you are completing some learning so please send some in to year3@elson-jun.hants.sch.uk . We have been giving out some dojo points for the work we see!

Week Beginning 25th January 2021
We are now half way through the half term! It has gone so quickly and you are all doing an amazing job and showing our school value of ‘adaptability.’
We have loved seeing your completed learning so please keep sending it to us. Some awards may even arrive in the post if we see some lovely learning. Your teacher is also awarding team points to children who send work in- more to follow about this in your teacher’s weekly email.
Miss Simpson has read you a story this week. You will find it under ‘Remote Learning’ and then ‘Assemblies and Stories.’ She hopes you enjoy listening to it!

Year 3 Remote Learning
Week Beginning 18th January 2021
We hope you enjoyed experimenting with the chilli challenges last week. It has been lovely to see you challenging yourselves. Please continue to send your work in, we have really enjoyed seeing it and we are going to make a display of your lockdown learning!
This week we have included some maths starters. These are to warm up your brain before your main maths lesson if you want to try them.

Friday 22nd January maths teacher video is using the teaching strategy of ‘silent teacher.’ This is a type of teaching we use in school and involves the children having to pay close attention to what the teacher is doing rather than listening to it.
Week Beginning – 11th January 2021
We hope you enjoyed your home learning last week. In school, we have been enjoying learning about Africa. Below you can find your home learning for this week. Please continue to send in your work, we are loving seeing what you have been doing.
This week we have included ‘Chilli Challenges’ in the remote learning. The mild challenges are deisgned to build skills and confidence, the spicy challenges are designed to secure skills and the hot challenges are designed to master skills. You need to choose one challenge for each lesson. You do not need to complete them all. If you need advice on which challenge your child should work on, please email us: year3@elson-jun.hants.sch.uk There are also some spelling chilli challenges on education city to do as an extra if you wish. This is not compulsory.
For PE, we have been set daily challenges by Hampshire School Games. You could complete the challenges daily or do a few over an afternoon. We’d love to see some photos of you completing the challenges.
